Non-Degree Seeking Students
Take UND courses without committing to a full degree program.
What is a non-degree seeking student?
Non-degree seeking students typically take a course or two to meet academic or professional goals, or apply to a certificate program, but each case is unique.
Non-degree seeking students go through an admission process similar to degree-seeking students; however, they do not typically have a Hawk Central account and are not assigned an academic advisor.
Types of Courses for Non-Degree Seeking Students
Non-degree seeking students at UND generally complete courses by enrolling in self-paced or semester-based courses.
Option 1: Self-Paced Enroll Anytime (SPEA) Online Courses
Self-paced enroll anytime (SPEA) online courses are administered by the Office of Extended Learning and are a flexible option for many students.
Option 2: Semester-based Courses
Non-degree seeking students who plan to take semester-based courses should check the course catalog for prerequisites. Students may enroll in courses without prerequisites by following the Schedule Planner instructions. Those needing prerequisite evaluations, however, must request them by completing the Prerequisite Evaluation Request Form.
Before completing the form, gather the required information and documentation. It's also recommended that you use Transferology to see how your existing college credits will help you meet prerequisite requirements at UND.

Only forms submitted by UND email addresses will be processed.

- Your EMPLID and UND email address.
- The name of the course, including course prefix and number (academic catalog).
