Accommodated Testing

Accommodated testing provides equitable access to exams for students with approved disability accommodations.

Students approved for testing accommodations through Student Disability Resources may complete accommodated exams through Student Disability Resources when accommodations cannot be reasonably provided within the academic department.

Accommodated Testing through Student Disability Resources

To use Accommodated Testing through Student Disability Resources, students must:

  • Have approved testing accommodations through Student Disability Resources for the current semester
  • Discuss their Notification of Disability Accommodations email with their instructor each semester
  • Discuss testing arrangements with their instructor to determine whether exams will be administered within the department or through Student Disability Resources

Whenever possible, students are encouraged to test within the department to maintain the same access to instructors and course resources as their peers.

Testing Location

Students testing with Student Disability Resources will check in and complete their exams in the Chester Fritz Library Tutoring & Study Skills Center on the 3rd floor, where exams will be proctored.

Scheduling Exams

Exams must be scheduled with Student Disability Resources at least 5 days before the exam date.

Examples:

  • If your exam is on Monday, it must be scheduled by the previous Wednesday
  • If your exam is on Tuesday, it must be scheduled by the previous Thursday
  • If your exam is on Wednesday, it must be scheduled by the previous Friday
  • If your exam is on Thursday, it must be scheduled by the previous Saturday
  • If your exam is on Friday, it must be scheduled by the previous Sunday

Exams should be scheduled at the same time as the class unless alternative arrangements have been approved by the instructor and Student Disability Resources.

After submitting a request, students will receive a confirmation email with their scheduled testing date and time.

Please bring a form of identification when checking in for your exam. Acceptable forms of identification include a student ID, driver's license, or other photo ID.

Questions, Changes, or Cancellations

If you need to reschedule, cancel, or have questions regarding accommodated testing, please contact Student Disability Resources.
